在学校的健康中心遇到Karen,她很热心的邀请我们宿舍的人去她家玩。于是蝗虫街三人组(媛姐，我，杨小弟)昨天去Hamilton正式拜访美国家庭。 Karen和她的丈夫Joe都在Miami Ｕniversity工作，Karen在Oxford校区，Joe在Hamilton校区。他们有一个14岁的女儿Jami，刚刚做了一次大手术，取掉了颅内的一个肿瘤。小姑娘出院以后还自己做狗饼干在网上出售，因此还上了本地的报纸，她做的小狗饼干非常的可爱，有骨头形状的，还有爱心形状的，好像生意还不错哦！Jami还有一个9岁的弟弟叫做Jack，看起来比较害羞，脸上都是可爱的小雀斑，基本形象就是动画片里面经常出现的那种非常典型的美国小孩，Karen家还有6只猫，基本都很肥，和很多over weight的美国人一个体型，后半身基本就是无比的肥胖。其中有一只喜玛拉雅猫，长的像狗那么大，很强壮。Karen家还有4只蛤蟆，几条鱼。
        先说说Karen家的花园，包括后院和前庭。她家房子周围种了梨子树，桃子树还有苹果树，我们去的时候，已经看到红红的小梨子了，比乒乓球大，这是我第一次看到梨子树。她家的小桃子也是很可爱，和乒乓球一样大。苹果树今年刚种的，好像她家种的是boy苹果树，她邻居家种的是girl苹果树，可能要两棵才能有小苹果长出来吧，我们大家都不是很知道。她丈夫还养了很多仙人掌，最高的超过3米，和我昨天刚买的mini仙人球比起来简直就是巨无霸。Karen家的后院很大的一片草坪，种很多的树和农作物，比如黑梅，南瓜，扁豆，胡萝卜等等。最好玩的是猫薄荷，猫吃了猫薄荷的叶子以后就会发疯，又跳又滚，可好玩可好玩了。她家花园还有很多秋千，还有摇椅，就是公园里面那种，可以捧一本书坐在上面，边晒太阳边看书的那种摇椅。她家的花园足够大，我们在花园空地玩了一种叫做corn hole的Ohio本地游戏，基本就是投沙包上木板。中国人学习能力强啊，我们三个很快就投的很好了。
        晚饭是在花园和房子之间的一个小阁子上吃，露天的。吃了一个烤蔬菜串，串着洋葱，西葫芦，红辣椒，青辣椒，黄辣椒；然后吃了烤玉米棒子，据说两色玉米非常的甜，我吃的是白玉米，不过我已经觉得非常的甜了。美国人喜欢在玉米上涂黄油，还有撒黑胡椒盐，比较诡异。然后吃了烤鸡肉，上面的酱比较甜美，我很喜欢。然后吃一个芝士拌意大利面，橘黄色的，我吃了点，奶味比较重。饭后点心是香蕉船，我们自己DIY的。材料很充足，船形的碟子，香蕉，冰淇淋球，草莓酱，巧克力，樱桃，还有专门喷奶油花的喷筒。我的最爱哦，吃了好多好多，好开心。
        饭后，看奥运游泳比赛，参观小朋友的房子，基本就是玩具很多，Karen住院的时候收到的毛绒玩具堆满半间屋子。Jack的玩具也是一堆堆的，美国小孩暴幸福－想起郑渊洁的名言：玩具让孩子爱世界！还有就是聊天，Joe也看Desperation housewife，一说他就狂笑，果然是看过。他们还给我们看他们去旅行的照片。去年他们夫妇请了5周的假期，从Ohio开车到CA，然后又取道Arizona回来，玩了多少地方啊！他们还去过阿拉斯家，暴美！我们在照片上看到了鲸鱼还有海狸。美国人有车真是暴自由，真是想去哪里玩都行阿！ 好了，马上去看电影了，蝙蝠侠$5.00~ 且听下回分解

I have been in Oxford for 14 days. I am taking an English course about the culture of America for more than one week.

Miami University is an old university with nearly 200 years history. My university has a very modern gym with first-class swimming pool and exercises equipments. There are several libraries such as King library and the Science Library which are equipped with a great number of personal computers. The most fantastic thing in the library is the Apple Mac. On the campus, you could see squirrels and lovely rabbits everywhere. People in Ohio are quite friendly. You could say Hi to everyone in the street. In our computer science department, there is a lab just for graduate students. There are sufficient computers, micro wave oven and refrigerator in the lab.  

Candle wood is the place where I am living in. My roommates are very nice who are good at cooking. I also cook very well, such as cashew with shrimp and crabs. I enjoy different styles of Chinese food a lot, such as the Sichuan food  or Northern food. Everyday I enjoyed the life a lot. I love to swim in the small swimming pool which is just 50 meters far away from my house. In the morning, birds sing and I wake up. Once even I saw a deer in the yard but no one believes ... More than 200 Chinese students in Oxford in fact, so I am not alone. Life is wonderful with new roommates and friends although sometimes I am missing the life in Shanghai and every dear friend in my life.

I have been to Cincinnati for three times. The first time was 29th July when we change our flight from Chicago to Cincinnati. That was a rainy day. When the flight flied in the sky, everywhere outside the window is dark and somethings there were thunders and lights. Rains knocked at the windows of the flight, we worried about that trip a lot. The second time is for shopping in Jungle Jim's(Hamilton) and Kenwood. Jungle Jim's is an international super market. We bourght Chinese viniger, soy source, noodles and Dou Fu Pi there. Jungle Jim's provide goods from all over the world, such as Italian food or food from Asia. Kenwood is a shopping mall. I need a fashion bag but I cannot buy it here for the price is too much higer compared to the one in China. You could find a lot of brand goods in Kenwood, such as Clinique. The  Cheesecake Factory is a very good resturant in Kenwood. I think it is like the restaurant in Grant Mall in Shanghai. The cakes there are really delicious. I have tasted the stawberry one , the bule berry one and chocolate one. I can only say I love cheese cakes! The latest time I went for Cincinnati was the day before yesterday. We went for a baseball game between Houston and Cincinnati Reds. I know nothing about baseball before this game but now I could understand the basic rules and I find it is interesting to watch a baseball game.

In the English Culture courses, we also have activities such as BBQ or shopping. We could discuss topics outside the classroom under the warm sunshine in the grass. We will have more activities such as Bowling or movie. I really expect a lot! My roommates and I are planning a trip to church.

The last thing I want to talk today is a market. It is a vegetable or crafts market. You could purchase very fresh vegetables every Sunday morning. I love unions now. The American sweet corns are really fantastic. Compared to the vegetables in the Korger, which is a big super markey nearby my house, the vegetables in the market are really wonderful and cheap!
